The story behind the songs

The Blue Ridge Between Us

The soundtrack rises out of the world of Fidel Phillips and Mary Liz Sams: Mars Hill, Madison County, Flag Pond, hidden messages, burning towns, old family names, and the dangerous roads that linked them.

Each song stands on its own, but together they follow a mountain story about loyalty, grief, love, and the memories that do not leave when the war is over.
